Commissioning Engineer — Grid Automation

About the role
As a Commissioning Engineer — Grid Automation you install, commission, maintain and repair substation automation and SCADA commissioning at customer sites in Mannheim, Germany and beyond. You are the face of Hitachi Energy on site: you solve problems on the spot, train customer operators and feed back what you learn to the product teams.
What you’ll do
- Install and commission new equipment at customer sites
- Carry out preventive maintenance and fault-finding on substation automation and SCADA commissioning
- Write clear service reports and keep the service system up to date
- Train operators and support customers by phone and remote connection
- Work closely with sales, product and spare-parts teams
What you bring
- MBO/HBO or bachelor’s degree in electronics, mechatronics or software engineering
- 2+ years of hands-on field service or commissioning experience
- Fluent English; Dutch, German or French is a plus
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel europe-wide
- VCA / NEN 3140 or equivalent safety certification
