Every vacancy on The Field Service Jobs carries a travel label. Here is what each one usually means in practice.
Regional
You cover customers within a few hours’ drive and are home most nights. Good for engineers with a young family or who want predictable weeks.
Europe-wide
You fly or drive to sites across Europe, often Monday to Thursday or for one to two weeks at a time. Expect a higher allowance and more varied work.
Worldwide
Commissioning and installation projects outside Europe, sometimes for several weeks. The pay and the experience are strong, but ask how rotations and rest days are planned.
Before you apply, ask the employer how many nights away a typical month has. That one number tells you more than the label.
